Hillman and Moore passed a big test tonight. My buddies swore Yuni would be back at SS and he’s not- their entire remaining credibility was on the line with this lineup- do we play the best players or do we protect our personal image? Pass for now.
Guillen 2 games a week in rf, sits 2 games Kila 4 games a week not that deep- you trade Guillen first chance you get

People who don’t really get baseball or understand which statisitics mean something and which don’t can’t see why we need to look at Kila in the majors for a few hundred at bats to really make a decision, but…
If you want the Royals to have a plan for next off season you want players like KIla-Paraz-Lough Wood (should have been Rosa) get good long looks before October so you can go out and fill needs (unlike last years off season where we duplicated positions and wasted $$$ in the OF ss and utility- it’s important to play your farm system when rebuilding

If Aviles wins the SS job can we afford Betancourt on the bench who plays only 1 position? If Gordon’s place can’t be justified then certainly Betancourt a weak hitting ss only isn’t serving a function on our bench. DM needs to take the plunge and just flush all of his mistakes of last 2 years in 1 fell swoop- Saturday Night massacre- dump them and move forward it will feel so good- just do it DM

More good news: Pretty good start for Montgomery @ AA today. 5.2 innings, 8 K’s, 1 ER, but I think he has 4 BB, 1 HBP, and 1 balk.

Moose went yard again and had 2 BB.

In 2008 Kila got 6 hits in 21 ABs with 3 BB. .285/.375/.489
Not that 24 plate appearances should ever be used to judge him, but he certainly did better than an impressive 1 hit…

I’m at the point where I’m willing to see the Guillen adventure in RF if it gets Kila ABs. Maier, Butler, Kila, Aviles, Getz, Callaspo, Dejesus should play every day. I don’t care about any of the other roster players b/c they’ll hopefully be gone next year (I know I’m stuck with Kendall too).

did nobody see kila up in 2008 besides me…i was at the game he got his first and i think only hit of the year…not impressive then…maybe better now…of course that was the same stretch that shealy had 7 hr…hes gone now…and wayland, do you work for hillman, putting your only real speed at the bottom of the lineup…geez

Really? We’re going to judge a player’s performance on batting average and rbi? It might be worth noting that Kaaihue still had 45 extra base hits in 2009 and had a rather unlucky BABIP of .277, despite actually having a higher line drive percentage than he posted in 2008. In 2008, when Kila’s BABIP was a basically average .300, he hit .314 and a .458 OBP.

Sadly, this debate will likely continue on as I’m skeptical Moore/Hillman have any intention of giving Kaaihue an actual chance to play in the majors and either prove or disprove that he can play in the bigs.

Absolutely chuffed Kila has been called up

Whether the lad gets many at-bats or not the experience & recognition will serve its purpose & add to his confidence

From what i’ve seen of him this year there is a sense of maturity about him & we may just be pleasantly surprised at what he produces when he’s given his chance,patience also being one of the important qualities he will bring to the fore

My guess Hillman will pinch hit him frequently

The Ankiel situation is just a joke as is the handling of it,dont they learn anything?
