Ned Yost has more winning seasons as manager than the last 5 Royals managers combined.

Given his background as a catcher and a bullpen coach, hopefully Yost will go easier on his pitchers’ arms than Hillman did. And he’s the first Royals manager in a long time to actually have major league experience AND more than one season above .500 on his resume. There’s something to say for that.

Yay! I know this isn’t some sort of magic bullet, but something had to happen. But, on a sad note, I’m really going to miss the nickname SABR Trey. Sometimes things just have a nice ring to them…. Oh well.

good riddance- those who say managers don’t matter miss the impact it has on developing young players, players have been burried and ruined by Hillman it’s deeper than wins and loss this year.

Hillman had to go. He had lost the confidence of the fans and his team. Also GMDM desperately needs a scapegoat for his own malfeasance in this disaster. It remains to be seen if Glass will give him sufficient time to wait for the youngsters to arrive from the farm to save his bacon.

My guess is GMDM will be lucky to survive the season.
