Looking at the two pictures of Meche, I think that his raising the knee higher may be a conscious decision. Based on the angle of the images, it seems that he is showing the ball to the batter in the one on the left, whereas the ball is hidden behind his leg in the picture to the right.

Granted, it would help immensely if Meche could learn a halfway decent pickoff move, or the slidestep. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening.

Have you seen Ken-doll's throws to second? He's not doing his pitchers any favors by throw it short or left or right. True that maybe he's rushing his throws because of the pitchers, but I have never seen as many throws no where close to the bag by a MLB catcher.

Thanks for doing the work! I had figured just as much from Meche. It appeared to me that he was more the problem than Kendall was so I'm glad to see the numbers back that up. I didn't realize that about Hochevar and his problems with the running game.

Seeing all these problems with the running game gets me more excited about seeing some of our young lefties like Monty coming up. Based on all the POs he has had in the minors, I would assume he has a good move and can really halt the running game. I hope Lamb and Dywer are solid in that respect as well.
