Why not Bloomy to Pods? He has a NL skill-set, and gives them a little depth in MI and OF. We have Betemit for utility, and can bring up Ed Lucas or Irving Falu to fill where Betemit can not. This allow Royals to be a little younger and cheaper, and get a low-grade prospect.

Wood needs to go back down to minors to work on his flaws. He cannnot stay in high-leverage situations now, so why have him up here? There are many guys at Omaha how could be bullpen filler.

If Royals can be overwhelmed for DDJ or Soria, you have to take it.

Yost, McClure and Seitzer have hit the rocks. Will be interesting what their dynamics will be going forward. It's hardly a mystery. Injure or overuse your whole pitching staff--anybody recall Blake Wood going out their almost nightly for two straight weeks--forget about team conditioning, ignore every principal of exercise physiology and rely on motivation and such generalities as Yost spouted the other day on the radio--we've got to go out their and keep playing hard, I won't tolerate lack of effort--instead of articulating specifically concerning improvement in player performance and what they're doing to bring that about. As an aside--anybody anymore believe Bob McClure is a good pitching coach? So totally symbolic to see the KC Star photo of McClure with his gut hanging over his belt as a head of his noodle armed pitching staff.

I would take O'Sullivan and Peter Bourjos for Callaspo, then look to move Bannister... maybe the Reds? Zack Cozart would be a good start for Bannister, and Banny would be a far better pitcher in the NL. Why stop there? If we can get a bidding war for Soria started between the Rays and the Yankees, then maybe the Yankees would give up Montero? If you are the Yankees, do you want to risk having to face Soriano and Soria in the 8th and 9th inning? Maybe they give up Austin Romine, Zach McAllister, David Adams and D.J. Mitchell... that kind of package would be amazing, not to mention that the Rays have tons of prospect depth.

Talking to someone who knows the padres very well, he indicates that padres are more likely looking for middle infield help now that eckstein is down. They feel more confident in their OF now and dont have a lot of minor league talent to give up. I'd cross the padres off the list of dejesus suitors.

I think you are wrong on Dejesus. There are 7 teams heavily talking to DM about him. I would say its a 95% chance he's gone. Also Closer is a luxury we cannot afford but he does have a team friendly contract. I think its more his contract than position that keeps him here

Damn... I always leave Scotty Pods off this list. I'll put him at 10%. He's the leadoff hitter so he's naturally overvalued and if they dealt him away, the Royals would be forced to call up Gordon.

I have come to the grips that I am personally unable to look at trading dejesus objectively. I really like him, and really want him to be on the royals and to be on a winning royals ballclub.

I am sure the royals are going to be unable to trade guillen. Every day after the trade deadline that guillen isn't released for Kila is a wasted day.

I hope all you power worshipers out there in the States as well as all the "example setting" standards that Kendall is meant to bring to the table (did he actualy go out to the mound to encourage Davies?) noticed that the player who got it all ignited in game 1 against the Blue Jays was Willie Bloomquist, that when all heads were about to droop with fist pumping & all forms of other team encouragement non-existent,Wee Willie's double blast kicked off the victory? This kind of sprit of intensity which is Ned Yost's favourite word at the moment is a rare commodity, maybe its a good thing he's only at 15%!

I think it was no-coincidence that the damp weather & Bloomquist on the bench both had a dispiriting effect on the Royals last night.....
