I don't like promoting a guy because he SHOULD be ready. I would rather promote him when he IS ready. I think crow is still figuring somethings out and he pitches in what might be the most hitter friendly park in the system since High Desert.

Osuna might be ready for a shot, that is true. The rest, probably need another full season at a minimum, IMO.

I am not saying they should start next season in the bigs, but after June they should be ready. Osuna is going to get the rest of the season in AAA. Crow either needs to go to the bullpen for awhile to figure out his control or move up to AAA to see if he has anything. Crow was drafted last year, b/c he was supposed to be one of the closest to major league ready pitcher in the draft. So far there are 3 other pitchers from that draft already to the big leagues, and he is in AA.

Clark- I take your point but i really do believe at this level an infielder should be able to play both positions adequately, his performaces of late at second (that is what counts) have been at times poor & he has coughed up some costly mistakes (Getz last night showed us all how it should be done) with this in mind a "promotion" to SS even with a totally healthy arm should not in my view be a "shoe-in",especially as he is not getting it done at the plate either & he himself might not be part of the long term plans!

Looks like he is now being lined up for a crack at third anyhow which might be the best option with Getz playing out of his skin defensively!!!

Aviles is still in my triple AAA fantasy team btw......

I'd say that would be rushing most if not all of those guys. Not to mention that putting heavy expectations on them can be yet another hurdle to overcome. I think most if no all those guys could use another year in the minors. I know we want them to produce at the mlb level as soon as possible, but I think patience will be rewarded with more advanced, more mature and better players overall.

Craig, I see you're point, we don't want to rush any of the young arms. But Crow, Dwyer, Osuna, and Duffy are going to be 22-24 years old next year. That's not really rushing, agewise (is that a word?). Monty and Lamb are a little younger, but they are very advanced pitchers.

If Myers moved to the outfield or 2B right now, his stick would play in AA. Is that rushing him, even if he is ready?

I'd love to get Werth as well but since he's been with the Phillies through this string I couldn't imagine he'd come to KC. The Royals definitely need some pop in the middle of the line-up and though Adam Dunn is yet another DH type I could see him coming to KC. The guy hasn't been on a winning team since little league! Seriously, the Royals have a lot of work to do this off-season. It's a tough job since everyone is pointing towards 2012, I just hope the 2011 team will be decent and that Moore doesn't sign anyone that blocks our up and coming prospects. Here's hoping Gordon is more than a AAAA player!

Kyle - With the younger arms, you really want to bring them along slowly. I know given our dearth of starting pitching talent, we'd like them here sooner rather than later, it is smart to give these guys time to develop.

As for Super 2, it basically means a player will be eligible for arbitration four times instead of three. It's based on playing time... because Gordon spent 21 days in AAA last summer, he fell short of the three years of service time to qualify for arbitration. However, every year a batch of players with just under 3 years of service time qualify as Super 2. It won't effect the amount he receives next year.

% in the UK - Aviles is playing out of position at second, with his natural spot being shortstop. When healthy and playing short everyday in 2008, Aviles' defensive numbers were vastly superior to that of Betancourt.

Bannister eats up innings if you are willing to play w/ a 5 run deficit the entire time. Both he and Davies give us 0 chance to win a ball game. I hope the days of this roster always signing tirds such as a Bloomy, a Graffy, and a Gloady, are over. These guys year after year suck playing time out of the only team in MLB that would even give any of those guys that many ab's throughout a season.

Not to change the subject or anything. But how does the Super 2 rule work? I see on the 2010 payroll sheet you show Gordon as Super 2. Does that mean is going to get a larger arbitration amount? Eventhough he was in AAA for a better part of this year.
