So, 3 Royals would have been near the top of the list if Gordon qualified and Pod’s and Callaspo had not been traded? Is this part of Seitzers “wait for your pitch” style of coaching the hitters? Or is this an issue of Royals not getting calls that other teams would get with the same approach?

And according to Dutton, Gordon’s 9th inning double has been changed to a two-base error. See? The guy can’t catch a break. And that drops his BABIP by a few more points.

Travis – Gordon isn’t fishing much anymore… He will still go after the change-up low and away and the occasional slider out of the zone, but overall he’s shown much better command since his return.

And Gordon’s walk rate is the second highest on the team to Wilson Betemit. 12.3% to 12.2%. As Nick says, it’s one of the things he’s improving upon which leads me to believe if given the proper opportunity, he will reward us. In some way.

Maybe instead of guessing Kila’s 1st homerun date, we should instead guess when he gets two starts in a row… At this rate, I’m guessing mid-Sept.

I wouldn’t predict anyone’s first career HR to come off of Brett Anderson. Do we get to face Ryan Rowland-Smith at all in Seattle? If so, I like that game .

Back to Gordon, I’m curious what you guys think about our line-up next year. Is Alex the clean-up hitter? Or is it Kila or Billy? Also, how much more does Maier have to do in the last 2 months to prove he can be our everyday RF next year? Honestly, if Maier and Alex can long-term hit like they are right now, an outfield of DDJ and those two doesn’t sound half bad.
