Nice post. Any body have stats on relievers effectiveness being used three days in a row? Being used on consecutive days? My guess--neither is pretty. Back in the day managers organized their pens that relievers generally pitched every other day. Rare that you'd see them going back to back. As to Yost, he's better than Hillman, but who could be that bad. Yet, it's easy to see him as decidedly mediocre, below average even for the traditional non-conditioning type manager. he fails to compete and gets beat on a consistent basis by declining to challenge the opposing team when he must. opposing teams best hitters are pitched to in crucial situations, there insufficient awareness of whose's got it and who does not in situations. anybody commenting on Bannister and our great pitching coach Bob (Arm slot) McClure?

Nick-I hear what your saying but this was our first opportunity to attain a home sweep, not to mention the longest running winning streak of the season & some much needed positive vibrations/momentum for a side just starting to find its feet & working together as a unit since the disabling of our roster at the trade deadline!

The importance of these facts & there psychological effect & advantage are too strong for Yost to mess with experimenting about to the point of obsession!

%, it may be just me but I have a hard time getting upset at bullpen usage and pulling a starter at this point in the season. Since the division isn't on the line, I think that it could be possible that Yost is more trying to learn about his players than do the absolute best thing to win the game at hand. Maybe, I'm wrong though. Maybe Yost is trying to see what it looks like when each particular pitcher loses it, or how they respond to pitching later in games or how they respond to some pressure. On the other hand, maybe this is how he prefers to run things, hard to tell.

I think that leaving davies in was fine and chen was questionable.

Ned Yost's approval rating has taken a downward curve on my mythical graph over the last couple of days!

In game 2 against the tribe he seemed obsessed to get Chen through to that magic six innings completed stat,he wasnt at his best in the game & was starting to struggle but Yost kept him in,he didnt get the six completed & gave up runs trying to do so,Texeira as well did the job what he was asked to do & then started to send distress signals which were ignored ultimately for him to leave with ignominy & further runs on the board.

Last night we got seven accomplished innings out of Kyle Davies, thats Kyle "frigging" Davies the man who generally implodes in the sixth (if not before),so we basically have a bonus innings out of him & a three run lead, the Indians are down & out, making errors all over the place,so when he gives up a hit after 7.1 innings we say thank you Kyle take a seat & enjoy the rest off the ball game dont we?

NO! Despite giving up a further hit & a run which included a 13 pitch at-bat where his hat was on & off his head to be used as a hankerchief to swipe the sweat away from his brow constantly, shoulders slumping with the signs of fatigue,Yost leaves him out there untill he leaves with two on & only 1 out to a young fly ball pitcher to handle the pressure,if that wasnt bad enough after the game is tied he doesnt bring the leftie Hughes in for Choo, probably there best hitter! Absolutely crazy!

Maybe Yost knew you guys wernt watching so he thought he could get away with it?

At least the Tribe announcers gave out further compliments to Gordons outfield play,a fantastic throw leaving an Indian a "dead duck" "You couldnt make a better throw" & on a running catch against the third base wall "Terrific play,he knew he was going into the wall"

Blanco's full length diving catch tracking back in the eighth was pure class btw

I'm surprised you havent got mlb.tv Craig with all the analysis you have to give, surely actual pictures are a must?

I kind of liked the copy editor, sure he was an orangutan, but he worked cheap. Or was it a she? With a name like Skittles, it’s hard to tell.

Jerrod - Fixed. Thanks. We're firing the copy editor.

Jeff & Sullivan - We definitely need Tejeda back for some stability. I think everyone would feel much better with Tejeda handing the ball to Soria.

Jamal - Caught me... I guess it's pretty obvious from all the positive words I've spilled in support of Bloomquist, Kendall and Bannister... Or maybe I'm just pro Castro. Get a grip.
