Look, gbewing, I’m not attacking you or trying to be thin skinned. I’m just discussing the issue here. You’ve probably moved on and won’t even read this comment but oh well.

You have every right to feel that the time you spent reading the article or listening to the podcast was a waste of your time. However, I think you could have probably voiced that opinion in a slightly less aggressive manner. I enjoy criticism and actively court it. I will also respond if I feel the criticism is unfair, wrong or mean-spirited.

I value all input and all comments made on this site and particularly on articles I post. Let’s just try and be more civil.

He was forthcoming with lots of information. Once it’s parsed there is some tidbits on his thoughts on numerous topics. It’s still interesting, but it didn’t go as I had hoped and I don’t know that it ever could have gone how I’d have hoped.

Yeah, 15 minutes was kind of a short amount of time and it was more of a press conference you are right. I keep saying interview mostly because it requires me to say one less word.

Thanks for posting the entire audio.
I think I found it more interesting than you thought we would. Some of the interesting items, to me, were in extension. (And if all of his answers had been 2 and 3-liners, I have a feeling we’d be complaining that he held back and didn’t say anything.) To me, it’s interesting to hear him say that you need a legit leadoff hitter and a legit 3 and 4, and outside of that, everyone else can be a filler. So, generally, I didn’t mind the long-ish answers as much as I did the setup, to have fifteen minutes spread among so many questioners. That makes it more like a press conference than an interview.

No, you can complain all you want, but it’s incorrect to say I wasted your time because I didn’t make you do anything. I’m just trying to be accurate. You wasted your time, I had no hand in it. What exactly is the opinion difference here? I agree you wasted your time and probably continue to waste your time by writing about how you are wasting your time. No disagreement. I agree with you 100%.

I love criticism and have actively asked for criticism. What you are doing is trolling and I take a different tact towards trolls than the other writers. I will engage and confront the trolls as opposed to ignoring them.

When you have a difference of opinion, I’d love to hear it. That’s not what you’re presenting here. I love debating differences of opinion. In this case were of the same opinion. You’re wasting your own time.

Ok so we only should comment on your pieces to praise you?-it’s going to be 1 of those blogs- You wrote a piece, I got nothing from this particular piece and felt you were not very bold in your efforts- if you are going to praise yourself over and over and tell us how awesome your experience then I really don’t see a point to the blog- I have noticed that you get pretty thin skinned when people offer a different opinion than yours – something the other 2 writers handle quite well. if you don’t want feedback don’t put it out there. I don’t criticize all of your work, I criticized this piece and your response is defensive, self serving and weak.

The Butler signing in no way was a bad signing. This was a great signing for the Royals. 4 years for 30 mil, plus a 5th year for 12.5mil. That is a great deal. Even if he stays steady (which I doubt happens) this is a good signing. His numbers will go up over the next 2-3 years, then plateau for the last couple of years. The money and years are just about perfect. He will make a nice DH when Kila or Hosmer figure things out.

Correction – you wasted your time.

I don’t recall forcing you to do anything. If listening to members of the royals front office and team answer questions is a waste of your time, you should’ve known what was coming. I honestly have no idea what you were expecting or what you would’ve considered not a waste of your time. Next time, you should apply yourself for the opportunity and ensure that your time won’t be wasted.
