SL - It certainly makes more sense for Davies to make $2.3M. I said at the time I was shocked he was slated to make that much more than Hochevar.

What's more amazing... it's apparently been misreported by the Star and the Royals official website.

That is way better that Davies is making 2.3 instead of 3.2. I was a little confused myself, and I am one of just a few that wanted to see him stay in KC. He has the stuff, he just needs to get out of his own head. I don't want to see the Royals sign Millwood, but I wouldn't see it as a bad thing if they did. Right now they have a Francis (injury proned), Hochevar (injury proned), Chen (coming off of ONE good season), Mazarro (don't know much about him), Davies (inconsistent), and O'Sullivan (very young and inconsistent), and the rest probably need part of the year in AAA.

Mistake from KCStar, Kaegal just accidentally inverted the #'s and never caught it. Check more and you'll see it's 2.3M. Anyway, it just wouldn't make sense for Kyle Davies to making 3.2M and Bruce Chen making only 2M and having the better year or Luke maintaining the same salary. Or Billy Butler making less than Kyle. I know with the Royals very little makes sense, but for once, salaries are in-line with performance and talent. 13 players, 27.17M. Even better.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was $2.3... That's closer to what I thought it should be. But the Star and the Royals site have it at $3.2.

A quick google search shows the AP has it at $2.3. Interesting...

At least the Royals are going about this the correct way. Moore knows that a team has to build through the farm system (like the Braves did) and then add pieces from free agency, not the other way around. Hopefully his ability to pick out major league talent improves, or he hires someone specifically to scout the majors for impending free agents.

I don't know if Major league Baseball will really get on the Royals for their lack of payroll. They have been spending money the past few seasons, and they did spend a (for them) significant amount to keep Butler. This isn't like the Pirates or the Marlins, where there was no effort to get better and no semblence of a plan, other than to keep pocketing the money given through revenue sharing. Hopefully Selig and the suits realize this, and ignore any whining from the Player's Union if it comes down to that.
