Maybe its just a case of a even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile, but give DM credit for this one. From mlbtraderumors-•Mike Montgomery, Royals (#19) – supplemental first round pick (2008) for David Riske. That was quite a compensatory pick. Montgomery is rated as the #19 prospect by BA.

Bob Long-I’m with you. DM deserves some credit for picking the right guys, and spending that same money on free agents does not work. Developing a franchise with draft picks will last much longer, but we still don’t know how many of these guys can produce at the major-league level. And we won’t know at the end of this year, apparently.

Okay, the deal with Aviles is this — while I’m sure the projection works on best-case scenario logic, the best-case scenario for Aviles is that he re-discovers the power he had in 2009, which would mean less singles on which to possibly steal.

I’m with Thomas…oh please, do not let Getz get enough AB’s to steal that many. Francouer will probably spend too much time on the DL to get to his, not to mention hitting .250 with a .275 OBP won’t help, as will probably be his line. Cain and Escobar…oh, sure, why not? Can’t be pessimistic about everything. But I wouldn’t put it past Alex Gordon to throw in 15 steals of his own, provided he can hit well enough to stay in the lineup…and with this lineup, a .750 OPS would probably do it.

1. what say about the Royals conditioning programs of the past?
2. Ain’t saying much for most of these. Lots of the photos especially pitchers show very little weight room work at all.

@Thomas Reese, i have been wondering the same thing. My first guess was that it would be out by the beginning of spring training games, but do some research online it is now being said that it will be out sometime in the middle of spring training when iTunes releases the new iOS 4.3 (which was originally being reported to come out on Feb 14). So right now it looks to be sometime in March, but i hope it is sooner and all my research can be completely incorrect haha

I settle for the Royals just to become competent running the bases. They must have led the world in getting thrown out on a boneheaded play.

GMDM gets the credit for the farm system. Without him Glass does not pony up the cash.

I’ll take over on Cain, if he plays, and Escobar, if he gets on base. I hope Chris Getz doesn’t play enough to get that many opportunities.

On another note, does anyone know when MLB is coming out with their MLB At Bat app for 2011?

Does Mitch Maier not being even on the list mean anythying?

Surely he’s worth an ambitious 10?

Or is my loop bigger than Clarks (of which i am gratefull for the round up) & he’s been traded?
