Never understood from Day 1 why Greg Holland never made the major league team… wat a second, let me correct that.

I knew exactly why Holland started the season in Omaha? it was because the Royals front office wanted to show off their “#1 Farm System”. How has that worked out folks?

They need to go ahead and admit that Yost and Dayton Moore took the bait and now its time to bring back the guys that should have made the opening day roster…(i.e. Holland and Jesse Chavez).

Gordon seems to have shortened his swing so his bat stays in the zone longer. He’s not taking wild, loping hacks everytime he swings. If you want video examples, watch how Gordon is swinging this year and then watch how Kila flails wildly at pitches if you want to see how Gordon used to be swinging. One guy is in control of his swing and one guy is just trying to smash the ball with no real clue as to where to. That second guy used to be Gordon. Sadly, Kila is what Gordon was, only an even lesser version.

September 1st is a long time to only use two more pitchers in the rotation. Considering SoS is only 1 bad start away from Mazarro taking his spot making it six, that leaves one more spot Clark, for your prediction. Davies and Hoch look like GARBAGE! PURE, UNADULTERATED GARBAGE! I’m guessing one of these guys (Hoch) goes on the DL, while the other (Davies) either gets moved to the pen, or moved to another organization.

Semi-off topic

With all the talk of how Gordon has changed his stance/approach at the plate and the early results….has anyone went back and looked and SEEN the differences from last year to this year?

Other than the results, to my untrained eye, I dont see the adjustment. Anyone with some insight?

Thats exactly the point!

A veteran has learnt how to draw on his wealth of experience & has the ability of finding a way of getting the job done even when not pitching well,things tend to go belly up when a rookie is on the mound in the same circumstance precisely because he is as yet to have learned the art!

It seems to me that yost might prefer to use bullpen pitchers repeatedly over a period of days and then move on to someone else. I’m not sure that the theory is good, bad or if he really thinks that..but it’s interesting.

Maybe our rookies just aren’t as good as we think they are–Collins, Crow, Adcock and Coleman. Royals Review had a great article yesterday or so about how we have one of the poorest bullpens in MLB. I tend to agree. Our guys have pontential but are going to stutter, not to absolve Yost of any mismanaging potential.
