i took this from judging the royals...i guess i'm not the only one that thinks the little things matter...i'm not crazy about some of his point system, but this makes a valid point

" Chris Getz has been benched (at least for a while) because of his batting average, but it seems like he does a lot to help a team win, even when he’s not hitting.

The only starters with a higher on-base percentage are Gordon, Francoeur, Butler and Betemit. He has five steals, four 8+ pitch plate appearances, has taken an extra base six times, made four outstanding plays on defense, broken up four double plays, has six sacrifices and made zero mental mistakes. None of that is spectacular, it’s just good, solid baseball."

Is Ned Yost trying to kill Tim Collins? 49 pitches from your most overworked reliever and only bullpen lefty in an 8-0 game? What if the Royals need to get a lefty out in a tight game situation tomorrow? Oh, that's right, they'll just throw Collins again.

Am I missing something? I feel like the state (GMDM) needs to step in and take over custody of Little Timmy.

Look, I'll totally buy the argument that the way the royals develop their pitchers is bad and that mcclure is not good. But I need some data and facts to support it.

I'm not a fan of some of the things they do in the minors with pitchers, but there is some softening on that.

You either suck it up and play Kila with his sub .200 ba or send him down. The point of this season is to see what you have with this guy. We are 4 weeks into the season and already talking about benching him? If they have determine he can't make it at this level and you need a body, then Play Billy at first and bring Clint Rob up to DH.

I can blame McClure. The pitching sucks. The Royals have fired batting coaches. They didnt have much to work with either. So why does McClure get a free pass?

How is McClure even rateable? What is he working with? Hochevar isn't a top of the rotation starter (even though we skip people in the rotation to get him more starts). Chen held out all off season for a 2 year deal..I dont remember even a peep of anyone interested in a 1 year besides us. Francis and his shredded shoulder signed for 2 mil. SOS couldnt crack this god awful rotation and Mizarro is in Omaha. Davies...could get DFA'd tomorrow and not get claimed. Sure McClure might be bad but he's working with a staff that is proving it can't compete in MLB. He might be a great pitching coach as well. I'm not judging him until the young talent comes up. If those guys flame then he clearly will have his bags packed. But w/ our current roster, is it realistic for him to perform 5 different miracles w/ bodies that pitch wearing a KC hat? This rotation is awful but you could argue that they are pitching up to their capabilities.

The team might be on the way toward a 415 record, but I am still pleased with this team, mostly. Everyone expected the starters to be rubbish, and it is beginning to look as though everyone was correct. But Butler, Gordon and Betemit look like they might provide real offensive production, something which hardly anyone predicted. Sure, Gordon has suddenly lost his ability to draw a walk, Butler's power is down and Betemit's strikeout numbers could be epic...still, if we come out of this season with those three performing as legitimate offensive players, well that would be an amazing return. And though Francouer has not yet convinced me, if he keeps up with this performance, or even settles into a 300/340/480 line, we could suddenly find ourselves with four actual, productive, offensive players. Suddenly we don't need Moustakas and Hosmer and Myers to hit like world beaters.

Of course, it looks as though we need every single one of our pitchers to play well in the bigs, which is discouraging. Which, I think, prompts the question, how about giving Crow a turn in the rotation? I think it was Clark who posited that we could debate the relative value of an average starter versus a lockdown reliever. Of course, at least concerning WAR, the answer is that a worse than average starter is more valuable than all but the most valuable relievers. Also, I see no reason to expect that Crow might not be better than average as a starter -- we won't know until he gets the opportunity.

Sorry but I think McClure is waaay overrated. Who has he developed? Greinke? Greinke got better when his medication went up. What success stories can be attributed to MclCure? He gets way too much of a free pass in my book.
