"As for Royals tonight i think Crow is still hurt & should probably get shut down"

Coudnt agree more especially the shutting down part!

I Watched what is now last nights game the first six innings on the Rays broadcast & then due to losing the stream the rest of it on FoxSports Kansas City!

Couldnt believe the amount of grief messers White & Lefevre were laying on Melky for his throw to third instead of second, yeah it was a mistake but crikey the guys just given us a four run lead whilst the rest of the established hitters have spent the last three nights sleeping!

When it was 7-6 friendly Frank says "This all goes back to Melkys throw etc..",ERR NO! It all goes back to Yost for sending the shaky over hyped Crow out to put two runners on despite having the luxury of a four run lead!

Giavotella's throw was just scary & the whole collapse typical of a ball club that takes winning matches lightly & sometimes as a secondary concern!

Learn the art of being winners Royals as Melky tried to show how to do in the top half of the ninth!

Less than an hour before game four not even time for evening tea for this Royals fan!!!

Saw on the Star that Davies isn't expected to be able to pitch again this year, so is almost guaranteed to clear waivers. Guess that means that he could accept going to the minors, as earlier unclaimed DFAs have, off the 40-man roster, then prepare for his eventual reincarnation as a bullpen pitcher. If not signed in free agency he can get offered a minor league contract and become a reliever at Omaha. I wouldn't be surprised if this was discussed and agreed upon by Moore and Davies before the release.

Could have used Davies at the circus tonite. I have seen Little League teams who knew more about baseball than this bunch! There are not excuses for stupidity. They look like the Mets of old. Maybe it is a conspiracy to get another high draft pick. Ruined the enthusiastic debut of the catcher.

Getz has had 1000 major-league abs. Royals cannot afford a guy with such a limited skill-set, although he might have value for another team. Would still like to see Irving Falu on the KC roster for utility. DM is giving Davies a chance to hook up with someone else, but when that doesn't happen he will bring him back for bullpen reclamation project, which would not be a bad thing, especially after Sept. 1 He will need time in minors for rehab.

I would love to see Cain in KC, but Melky is a stud right now.
Concerning Francis, there is no starter to push him off the roster. Does anyone think SOS, Mendoza, or Mazarro have earned a starting role? This isn't a situation like Gload/Jacobs/Kila situation.

@Jambo...I realize Getz isn't the best option but he is a decent dude to play one or two days a week. He might be a decent situational/pinch hitter, pinch runner. His arm strength is good enough to play as a backup in the middle infield. Granted, I think another utility player is also warranted on the bench, a guy like Betemit who could play the corners in the infield/outfield (albeit poorly). :) Getz as the only infield utility guy is not ideal. KC needs a strong bat off the bench, too. Getz definitely ain't that. Don't get me wrong; if Getz were cut, I wouldn't necessarily say it's a bad move. But, he could be serviceable for KC in the right role. That's all I mean.

Hooray! I still think they should have given him a shot as a reliever. Limit his "repertoire" and see if he could be somewhere between Kyle Farnsworth and Mike Adams. If not, see ya!

"How about giving him 3-4 starts on regular rest to see if he can reproduce a modicum of success?"

Probably happen. Royals are planning on shutting Duffy down for September and unless they think either Chen or Francis brings compensation or will be resigned, they can sit too. This September will be the first part of spring training '12.
