What frustrates me so much is that people keep telling us it will be different next year. It may be sad for people to realize, but I am 22 years old and I don’t know a time when the Royals have ever been good. My best memories of the Royals were when we had Stairs, Dye, and Beltran who all were traded away as soon as they got good. I wish I had memories of good Royals teams. When I was young, whenever we were good, we traded away the good players for mediocre players and we were back in the gutter.

Maybe it is time to face the facts. 1. Our relief pitching stinks and has for 5+ yrs and the royals just don’t seem to care enough to say pitch bad your gone…pressure 2. Our supposedly up and coming superstars have been duds and may be nothing more than good role players on a better team behind real superstars (Hosmer & Gordan) 3. Managing has been atrocious I cant count how many just ridiculous base running mistakes we have made Just baffling 4. Fielding-Not the worst I’ve seen but def. needs improvement I mean everyone knows runners 1st & 3rd and 2 outs..let the guy on 1st steal except royals throw to 2nd and 2 run game now 3 run game 5. Starting pitching-can’t put alot of fault on this guys probably only bright spot on team besides sanchez but hell if the royals aren’t going to help them anyone would get flustered even greinke year he won cy young So maybe it is just time to say lets go to the ballpark but prepare for a 50 win season and pray the royals do something about it in the offseason.

Great article! The baseball that we have seen from this team is an insult to the memory of the players who played for a franchise that once cared. Honestly my kids 7 yr olds baseball team is easier to watch than this crap Kansas City is putting out there.

last year bullpen successful WHY, bob mc clure!!!, this year una mierda (translate it!!!). What i watched on tv was terrible, how to play a poor baseball without motivation, aggresiveness, etc etc. TODAY, another lost game. I will start making some managerial decisions.

These kids need to relax. You speak of the good ol’ days… I love the K, but it really is too bad that the Royals built that distracting big screen tv in center field: these kids need to concentrate on the humble game at hand; to relax and stay focused. Green grass, boring outfield fences… that is baseball. Why so many neon lights? Going to a Royals game is like being in an arcade game. I can’t concentrate, how do I expect the player to? The game has loses its leisure when the stadium is blinking so many bright lights at you. These players need to relax!

i agree, now just get a 2b and healthy catcher and we look good on paper at least.

BUT, 8 and 9 = black holes (i don’t care if they’re hitting it won’t last in a month it will be well gordo and hos are back but look at dem free outs)

Ultimately gordon is a strike out prone guy with power and hopefully some ability to take a walk, he’s mid-bot type of hitter.

Team needs to take more walks or at least see pitches, but i’m willing to chalk that up to “they’re young”

I want to ask the question, “Is a manager more important than ever in the current game?”

Someone with more time and more brains than me needs to answer this. BUT as a single point, look at the Rangers, Bad a$$ team, but you can’t tell me they wouldn’t have two ring right now if they don’t get out manged by Bruce Bochy and then that A-hole in st.louis who’s name will not be typed (how many starts did carpenter get? how many did texas’s #1 get?)

That being said I thing Ron Washington is a very good manger, but even as a very good one, he got out managed two times now, and it cost a great team.

Seriously though, if Ned would just stop running into outs and giving away outs with freaking sac bunts, we have 3 more wins, and it ceases to look like a bush-league cluster F. I don’t care if you didnt’ give the signal to not bunt/steal w/e, you need to give the don’t bunt or don’t steal, fyi your players think you want them doing that crap.

“Aviles didn’t’ give us a great reason to keep him” oh except that 4.4 war season where he got at bats and the manager didn’t hate him. Oh and he can play nearly every position with out making a fool of himself. Stoopid red sox’s, trading us that guy that is … oh he’s gone
