I see! Would you like the first half or the second half of the season or perhaps you’d prefer the middle two quarters of it?

Is there any particulars you have about the weather cause i’m sure we can do a good specific range of climatic conditions to suit all purposes….?

The problem here is that Gio isn’t being afforded the opportunity that most young players need. Even when they brought him up last year that just kept carping about his defense. It’s almost exactly the junk we listened to when Aviles first came. Had Aviles not hit a ton immediately he would have been jerked around immediately. Since Gio failed to hit immediately he only gets sporadic playing time.

And we knew this was going to happen the instant they offered Getz a contract for 2012.

So Greinke is gonna be KC’s first $100million dollar man? 2x the biggest contract ever given here? Does the Glass family know this? I wouldn’t be penciling anyone into the lineup or rotaion making over $5mil in free agency until further notice. Dayton was quoted as saying he didnt have the budget for 1 year of Edwin Jackson. Zack is gonna cost wayyyy more than that. So will any number 2 starter that w/o makes a Greinke signing irrelevant. I’m not gonna assume anyone is coming here until proven otherwise. #Our Time.

I’d trade Yuni, Getz and Mendoza for a bag of popcorn. If Greinke signs for anything close to a discount, it will be in Wisconsin. I’d put it at 50/50 he signs with the Marlins. Low key market in his home (tax-free) state. We have a better shot at Marcum coming off the injuries.
Bowden seems to think DM is interested in Wandy Rod. At 33, we might get that rental for Gio, and 1 or 2 of our low level arms. Maybe he likes it in KC and signs for a 3-4 year Meche deal.
Myers will be in KC this summer. He’s doing too well and going to force their hand.

Like I said I just hope GMDM dont do something stupid like trade the farm away for Grenkie or any other SP and not be able to sign them long term. I heard that Grenkie still has a house in the KC area so maybe if the Brewers dont trade him and he cant get a deal done with them maybe he will come back.

This is what I would like our rotation to look like next year…
Grenkie
Paulino
Monty,Dwyer,
Duffy(once he heals from TJS)
Chen or someone else we pick up in the off season.

As for the starting 9…

Perez
Hosmer
Gio/Falu/Colon
Escobar
Moose
Gordon

Frenchy/Myers

That to me looks like a team that could compete for not only the Central but a run in the playoffs.

Somebody who’s actually in the playoff hunt will give up multiple legitimate assets for a Greinkie rental. I agree I’m not willing to part with legitimate assets for a Greinke rental, but if you want Greinke before next season that’s what it costs.

I’d trade Mendoza, CRob, Getz, Yuni, etc for literally anything of value we could get. Value in this case means C- prospect.

Greg…Im just thinking of players that we could trade that will never sniff the majors with Mendoza being an exception. Who knows though maybe we could get Grenkie in the off season but another team could possibly trade for him then make him an offer he couldnt resist unless he wanted to come back to KC knowing we have a better shot at going to the playoffs then the 1st time he was here but if GMDM does try to trade for him I just hope they dont give up anyone that could help us in the next couple of years(Monty, Myers, Colon, Verdugo, Odirizzi, etc…)

Five nickels don’t equal a dollar when trading. Five pennies certainly don’t.

This doesn’t even address the fact it would be silly for the Royals to rent a player for a half season. Why trade something for Greinke when you can just sign him this offseason? Now, I guess if the Brewers are really going to take a bunch of players who suck for Greinke then I’d obviously pull the trigger in a heartbeat. Something makes me think our giddiness over that scenario proves the Brewers would never ever ever never ever consider something so ludicrous.

@Greg…You never know what the Brewers would take. If they need SS help they can have Yuni. They need someone to help at 1B they can have C-Rob. We could also package Sanchez, possibly Mendonza. We could add Kouzmanoff since he is a utility player.
