On a positive note, the Royals will finish this road trip at 5-4. Then come home and real off a 5-1 homestand, then go 7-5, then 6-3 and at the end of June the Royals will be 40-39!! 1 game above .500 and only 4 games back of Cleveland. That will definitely change the comments and thoughts on the Royals. This should also make DM “Feel” the need to win and get us SP for the playoff push.

(That is what I call exageration and dishonesty Greg).

I am glad my comments weren’t on the previously posted page. I wasn’t high on Sanchez but I knew for sure Melky would be a bust. I was wrong on Melky for sure. As bad as the Royals are this year, they have got to get better, right? Yeppers we have all been saying that for several years now. With the minors not producing any pitching prospect other than maybe Jake. Our hitters aren’t currently hitting but they will. No matter though, we still have no pitching and we still have the fearless leader in Ned here.

If Verdugo ends up a being a 3-4 SP, then we won the Melky trade. Too soon to tell. This year we eat sh!t. Next year, we feast…or maybe the year after…or year after that. Sooner or later.

exageration is what makes it funny. I don’t know where the dishonesty comes from, it would only be dishonest if I were there for the trades and lied about them (BTW, I was not there).

Probably the same posters that understood Melky had as many contributing years as Frenchy in his career previous to last, otherwise he wouldn’t have been a Royal in the first place. We got what we could get, unfortunately it morphed into a ham sandwich.
That song is as awful as the Royals SP. This is what we’ve become as a community, the vitriol has become so bad we can’t muster enough energy to complain anymore, now we just quote bad lyrics. Or call each other names, which is much more fun in my book.
(Paint It Black is a much better reference from that era for this situation, btw.)

There’s plenty of room for critcism of Moore and the Royals without exaggeration and dishonesty. For me, the contracts he gives to veteran players who are horrible are the most damning. I don’t see a lot of trades where he got completely fleeced, especially when viewed in context.

I was not posting when Melky was dumbfoundedly sent to SF. But I see your point. Almost everyone posting today posted how they loved the trade, even if it didn’t work out. But does any of our posts really mean anything other than to learn the correct words to a song? I am predicting that Moore trades Paulino for two left handed prospects TBD later and $10,000 cash. He will also trade Hosmer when he’s struggling and worth very little to Atlanta for a 38 yr old has been.
