I agree that Yost needs to be gone but as long as he loses more than he wins so the money will be coming into GMDM’s pockets he will stay.

Adam- Actually I did read those posts, but are far outweighed by the negative pitching posts.

See what I mean about Yost? If Yost is ordering those bunts and Esky’s not doing them on his own, then Yost is overmanaging as usual, he’s gotta go. How many games have we lost because Yost tried to be a “Hero” by ordering players to do something absurd? Then he gets defensive during the post-game interviews. Yost gone = 8 more wins.

Chad–I guess you miss the post two days ago saying how the Royals pitching isn’t the problem but the lack of offense is?

ESPN??? What is that??? I thought they only showed Yankees and Red Sox games. The only way the Royals will be on ESPN is if they are winning the division and playing the Yankees or Red Sox on Sunday Night Baseball.

Thanks DanL for doing the research for me. I just knew the pitching was pulling their weight and the hitting stunk. Imagine how good this eam could be if the offense lived up to their potential. We definitely would be in a pennant race and possibly be on ESPN occasionally.

While I think the stats would suggest we could use a dependable top-of-the-rotation starter, I was beyond surprised when I looked up the stats on the pitching staff this year – not all bad. Great team ERA and not giving up the long ball. Need to give some credit to Dave Eiland.

Starters going 5.0 innings per start, relievers 3.9 innings.
Two of three best Royals ERA’s are on DL (Paulino, Duffy)

#18 in majors in ERA

All I’m saying is I don’t buy into that theory in the first place. If you do buy into it then I don’t think Moore can be criticized as the most recent veterans he’s brought in all have big game experience: Sanchez (WS), Francouer (WS), Yuni (started for playoff team), Melky (WS), Broxton (closer for playoff team).

So what you’re saying is you want different (better) veterans with big game experience. I’ll agree with that as long as we focus on the ‘better players’ as opposed to the overrated ‘big game experience’.

What an exciting game!! Sure, the first 8 was boring but the rest is what you want to see from a young team. It shows their spirit and desire to not give up. This will reign huge for the future in close games.
I gotta say that in previous posts over the last couple of weeks all I have read is how horrible the pitching is and how we need pitching to start winning. Well folks, our pitching is great and has kept us close in games, our hitting is what sucks and has caused many 2-1, 3-2, losses. Half our bullpen would see the ASG if our hitting was a little better. Maybe our hitting would be better if Yost stuck with a line-up and alowed players to get comfortable. I’m sure it’s frustrating to go to work everyday not knowing where they will be hitting.

My apologies to Jonathon Sanchez who had a different arm and attitude in 2010 and is not part of the Royals future. I can’t see anything he’s doing this year as something you would want a young Royal to absorb.

Escobar has definitely become a stud since coming to KC. I could see him hitting second more than first. But I think he and Dyson when hitting in the 8/9 spot helps the lineup more – as Yost has mentioned, Alex becomes a #3 hitter the rest of the game with two speed guys ahead of him.

Escobar would be my choice for the All-Star game (although we’ll probably get another one or two as a hometown bonus pick – kind of like Yost & the trainer being All-Stars).
