I’ll be surprised if Kila gets meaningful playing time until Guillen is gone which I suspect will be closer to Aug 31 than July 31 if at all.

Nick-Apparently Moore has said Kila will get more time in the near future,hopefully no later than a week away,Holland the favourite to go up right now,which is great for him & a boost of encouragement for all Omaha players..

I watch a bit of Isotopes baseball so i’m familiar with Lucas May & would say he’s an upgrade on Edwind Bellorin but i hope this doesnt affect the starts of Cody Clark who has speed & pop & sholdnt be shuffled down the order just on the basis of age

Hope the young kid is not just a A player with fancy numbers…..

Looks like the Royals are going to add a pitcher to the roster instead of Kila. with not having a day off for what seems like an eternity, it probably isn’t the worst decision. However, it needs to be temporary, like a week or so at most. Then it’s kila time.

I think after the trade deadline on August 1st there will be a big upping of the ante in regard Kila getting more time in Kansas City!

Anybody else hear Petro’s rant on 810 last night?

He & his crew really vented some of there frustrations on the matter & quite a bit of time was passed on this issue,some of the best quotes…

“What has Kila done to be treated like this? He can only of gone into Dayton Moore’s office & urinated on his plush carpet”

“How can you discuss this matter without resorting to profanity”

“Is the neglect of Kila who is only a month older than Gordon a Sackable offence?”

SL, I would have preferred a sandwich pick to the guys we got. However it is a HUGE gamble. Because it is possible pods declines and is not a type B free agent. then we have to hope he declines arbitration, which at 34 years old, declining skills and a very nice arbitration pay day, I don’t see happening. This is one in the hand vs two in the very distant bush.

The royals have done an excellent job in the draft, that is true. I think part of it is due to more development as well. But spending money in the draft will pay huge dividends.

Glad you liked the podcast and I like exchanging words with you. You have your opinions and you stick by them. I have respect for that.

Nick, I listened to the entire episode this time. It was only reasonable after the long exchange of words. I enjoyed this episode, so kudos to you.

Actually I must be one of the few who really dislike the Pods trade. Maybe I just dislike everything that everyone likes. Myself personally, I would have gambled on Pods declining the option, then declining arb, and us getting a sandwich pick.

You have to admit, the Royals in the last 3 years after Deric Ladnier left, have done a really good job in the draft. The 2007 draft with Mike Moustakas has been mildly successful. It’s nice to see Holland in the majors and Clint Robinson doing well in AA. But, it is still a bit disappointing with picks like Runion (especially Runion), Hodge, Fernandez,… I hope Duffy and Matt Mitchell do well and I still have outside hope with Keaton Hayenga and Hilton Richardson.

Would it be possible for you guys to post transcripts of the podcast? For a number of reasons, I prefer reading to listening. Maybe there are other readers who feel the same way?
