I have to watch the Royals by DirecTV. I refuse to even watch Yankee broadcasts because of all of the Yankee cock-chugging going on. No wonder why those two need a lozenge with all of the abuse to their throats.

I will watch other TV teams throughout the season until they start reading from last year's scouting reports... Like the Twins and Tigers. BoSox on NESN is alright. Gubi is OK with the Angels, but their broadcast is pretty mediocre along with McRipoff's team, the Dodgers (Vin is a classic, but sometimes he rambles, a lot. then he's swapped out for much, much worse during certain innings). HATE Yankees and ChiSox and the nimrod Gary "I can't pronounce a Latin fella's name, but I'm all over crazy Eastern-European names in hockey" Thorne in Baltimore.

If Royals fans could actually hear what is out there, Ryan might have a bigger fan club. Him and Frank deserve it.

@Jeff, you are right I think Split was the best. I really enjoy both Frank and Ryan but recently have heard a lot of other people can't stand Ryan which I don't completely understand, though it may be because I don't watch the games because of Frank or Ryan and most people seem to take that part of the tv broadcast a little more seriously than I do.

Best broadcast crew were the Braves in the '90s on TBS. Skip Carey, Pete Van Wieren, Don Sutton, Gus Johnson, and Joe Simpson all were great. They were smart, and funny. They told great stories, and they weren't homers. They'd call someone out when it was appropriate. I got to listen to them everyday, and it was really enjoyable. I also got to watch great baseball, too. It's disappointing having to listen to them now with Chip in the booth. He's not horrible, but he's not his old man. For the Royals, I have grown to tolerate Lefevber, but Split was the best. Loved hearing him call basketball games, too.

Opposing t.v. commentators and radio personalities always fudge the details. Just yesterday on KFAN the local Twin Cities sports talk the lunch hour crew interviewed Jim Thome regarding his 600th HR and one of the guys assumed that he hat hit most of his HR's against KC. When in fact after your post a few days back you see that BOTH the Tigers and TWINS are ahead of KC.

KC has sucked for sooo long and really hasn't been relevant to even garner a proper stat check from opposing analysts.

Let's see. With questionable starting pitching the Yanks are 74-46 and the Royals 50-43. What could possibly be the difference between the two teams.

Anybody beside me notice that Duffy has turned into another of McClure's noodle arms. There's a photo in the Star showing Duffy on the ground supporting himself with both arms. You'd be unable to find a muscle with a search warrant in either arm.

I have been screaming this all year! The royals hitters have had to deal with expanded strikezones and pitchers getting squeezed. Don't get me wrong the behind plate umpires have been completely horrible as a whole this year, but the royals get screwed big time.

Seems like ball/strike technology has become very reliable - seems like you can eliminate a major source of complaints by using the technology to call consistent ball/strikes. Players and coaches just want the calls to be right - if the human factor is significant less reliable than technology - it becomes inevitable.

You can start with the rookie leagues next year, then go up one level each year until you hit the majors five years down the road.

Chaim - Absolutely, Soria has been unreliable this year, but he is just coming off a fairly decent stretch. I just felt the Dynamic Duo trashed him as a pretender to Mariano. There's no need to do that... Rivera is incredible. Everyone knows.
