Signing Yuni just makes me puke in my mouth a little. Last year several people posted that you could get by without a real SS on the bench. If Alcides became injured you could bring someone up from Omaha by the next game. This would allow Royals to keep Kouz, which makes sense in that he could pinch hit and spell Moose occasionally against tough lefties. I still hate 3 man bench. During 1st month of season you tend to have games postponed by bad weather. Start the year with a 4-man bench!

I’m betting on a seven man bullpen with a bench of Maier/Dyson/Yuni/Brayan to start the season. Probably a month into the season, there will be some changes.

Early in the year, you don’t need an overload in the bullpen – so Dyson can be used to run for Billy or Moose in close games. When you start needing more pitching, either Maier or Dyson will be replaced with another pitcher.

Getz only stays if Gio gets hurt and starts on the DL, in which case you’ll need to have Fosler’s .556 bat on the bench to pinch hit for Getz late in games when you need a double to score a runner from first.

I see it as a good thing Yost doesn’t use a bench because this years bench would make you want to let Escobar hit for himself. Why have Yuni strikeout in the same situation and then have to play short?

Rex Hudler. Extremely annoying and obnoxious with 0 Royals ties. I’m sure it’s going to happen.

True, but it will do a lot of good pitching in the 7th when the other team has three runs, what we can expect from a 4.50 SP. The reason for signing Broxton and Mijares and bringing up Herrera is so the 7th can be covered as well as Coleman, Crow, and Holland covered the 8th. With our offense, if the Royals give up four runs per game, a 4.50 sp ERA and a 3.00 rp ERA, we’ll win more than we lose.

As for bench, I expect 3-man; Pena, Yuni, and Dyson until the SPs prove they can get through the 7th more times than not. No sense having an extra guy riding the bench when you can have an extra hot arm appearing 60 times in the season.

I hope you’re right about the four man bench, but I’m expecting three. Yuni, Pena, Maier is my guess. I guess I shouldn’t root for four that much because I’m sure it’d be Getz.

I think .500 is probably over-acheiving a bit so this seems about right.

Dude, the ’68 Dart was a pretty hot car. It wasn’t until the mid-70s that the Darts started being POS grandma cars. The 60s Darts, provided they had the right engine, were pretty sweet.

That is pretty awesome that you went to Fantasy Camp. I really want to go to this sometime. I guess my parents had it in the back of their mind to get me as a gift, but my wife went and got pregnant. She was due last week, and sure enough, she came right on time. I might not have lived that one down, had I not been here for her. HAHA. I would love to here a few stories about the trip. Maybe next year for me.
