I thought they pulled Chen too early at the time and I still do. It was time to watch him and have someone up behind him, but I would’ve given him another inning. People stopped talking about it when Crow dominated the 7th, but what if his first inning had been the 8th?

The game was on Fox Deportes in Baltimore/DC. No HD and all Spanish, all the time. Interesting way to watch (listen to) a game for sure.

With Quintero’s hot start at the plate and a nice glove behind it, we certainly aren’t missing, Salvy, not yet anyway. And with Sanchez having so far proven he can still throw heat, and with Holland’s stellar spring stats, not having Soria is a mere afterthought.

On the other hand, Gordon and Cain still haven’t shown up since the season opener. Considering the numbers Cain put up in spring training, and Gordon’s breakout last year, I think they’ll be coming around shortly.

With the As in the midst of a major rebuilding season, there is no reason why we can’t leave California on Wednesday with a 4-2 record.

Great series, and other than a Mishap between Crowe and our new closer, we could have swept em, but thats baseball.

I think we have a decent shot at sweeping the A’s and a good one against the Indians, then of course we take on the Media darling Tigers. Got to love Spring Royals Baseball time.

And Finally to Rex Hudler, at first I didn’t like him, but eh I’ve gotten to enjoy his sportscasting, and when paired up with that steve guy he does real well. I enjoy it, and I enjoy making fun of all the weird sayings he pulls out.

Being from the Boston area, I’m thoroughly enjoying that the Royals are two games better than the Sox and Yankees right now. I don’t care if it’s three games into the season – I’ll take it!

2 out of 3 from the Halos on the road. Very nice, particularly the effort from the starting pitchers. I am also sensing that Butler and Hosmer are capable of carrying this team when they are both hot.

DanL -Bourgoeis (or however the hell you spell it) “can” play infield as well.

Initially, I was annoyed with Yost’s decision to bring Crow back out for the 8th. However, in a 0-0 game, the possibility of an extra-inning game was a real possibility, and with 6 games in a row to start the season, he needed someone who might be able to give him 2+ innings. Crow, who was stretched out in spring training, should have been able to do that, so I understand the move.

By the way, listening to Rex Hudler makes me want to stick sharp objects in my ears to ease the pain. He is horrible.

The game was on Fox here in KC – Mark Gubiza was the analyst – nice to have a knowledgable announcer for both teams.

Was curious that Getz was brought in for Yuni – wasn’t Yuni ‘impressive’ on defense at 2b this spring??? I’m guessing the PR spin machine doesn’t know how to handle the continued mess at 2B.

The real issue on that move is that Yuni is the backup for SS/3B – so if anything happened at any of those three positions – you have no bench options. Would like to know what Yost was thinking (or not thinking…)
