I can appreciate Yost's attempt to field the best team versus rolling out the youth, but KC sports the worst record against AL Central teams at 23-32. Does it really matter who's in the lineup?

I like Josh Fields he makes me feel a lot more at ease at third base given Yost isnt picking Bloomquist,Betemit is now 3-29 btw & starting to look like he's in a slump!

Maybe what Yost means when he says he has to put his best players out on the field is that he has no choice but to let Wee Willie play, lets face it he seems to win us most matches when he does play on his own these days...........doesnt he?

Bannister is a big strong guy who is victimized by the wrong coaching staff. Bob (Arm- Slot) McClure is all about "technique" whereas pitching requires strength, command and control. We never hear about the Royals pitcher's conditioning programs. I have become convinced this is because there are none, and hence our staff of noodle arms, with a couple of exceptions. I agree that with the poster that Yost, though light years better than Hillman, was extended prematurely. Yost is a below average manager who fails to compete, speaks as all bad managers "in platitudes", and by all indications has little specific knowledge on player improvement and development, and that ignores that half his pitching staff have gone down under his watch.

The thing is, the players that have been promoted probably provide the best chance of winning. May should catch at least 2 games a week the rest of the season. Kila should play 1B everyday the rest of the season (that might be easier now that Butler is hurt). Dyson and Miller should get a chance in the outfield at least 2 times a week.

Managers just can't help themselves: they have to play the veterans.

Josh Fields is a mirage. The point of trading Teahen was to get rid of Teahen. It had nothing to do with getting anything back of value.

It HAS to be Davies. Davies has at least had a few great starts, and several good starts. Bannister has gotten worse every start this year. Bannister is a upper 80s "control" guy that has no control. As seen on AWZ website, Davies has the stuff. he has a mid to upper 90s fastball, followed by 3 other strong pitches.

I like Fields in the mix until about midseason next year. Betemit and Fields would be a passable 3B combination. Both of them are pretty slow at 3rd, but they provide some pop in a popless lineup. Moustakas should be up by June, and hopefully one of them is playing well enough to be flipped for something.

What is the story with May? I thought he might get a start last night with Liriano on the mound. I guess Hillman, I mean Yost, wanted to put the best lineup out there? Did Yost get an extension a little prematurely? He does some of the same stupid stuff that got Hillman canned.
