Purchased MLB.tv and am hoping the KC game gets played.

To waste time I am watching the Cardinals game from this afternoon. In the pre-game show one of St Louis’ announcers said that Yadier Molina led the club in offense last season with a 305 average. So there is that. Also, Beltran went yard in the first inning — I miss that guy so damn much.

Okay, so “slow” is maybe not the best way to describe Gordon’s early season effort last year. Yes, he was hitting 154/154/231 after three games, but he started dominating in game four and really didn’t slow down until early May when he started struggling a bit.

“They can’t put the happiness of Getz over the welfare of the team. ” Never have more profound words been typed. Kouz needs to be back on this roster by May 1, when he can walk. He could have added a little punch to last night’s sub-major league lineup. Also agree that Royals cannot give away even one game. This is the major leagues, not a rec league.

i had no problem with giving ONE or the other the night off…but to have them both off in the same game is just stupid….neither one is known for a fast start…so why the sudden need for this line-up messing is beyond me….set it and let them play

As an opposing pitcher… Who would you fear more? Gordo or bouridontknowhowtospellhisname? Moose or Getz? I think yuni just needs to be named the starting second baseman. Getz just gets out, and wastes at bats…

No, no, no…you guys are all missing the bigger picture.

See, Jonathan Broxton had already pitched two games in a row, and he couldn’t pitch last night. Well, what’s the best way to guarantee that your closer gets a night off? Do everything you can to ensure that you won’t have a save situation, even if it means getting shut out.

I mean, that’s got to be the strategy, right? Cause otherwise it doesn’t make sense.

To everyone who is parading the hitting prowess of Bourgeois, Getz and Yuni, you need to realize that the effect of a batter is more than just his own at bat. When you create a weak hitting lineup around a few established hitters, then the pitcher does not need to throw strikes to those established hitters. Hosmer and Butler barely saw a hittable pitch last night while Yuni, Bourgeois and Getz were thrown some meatballs. The A’s were fine giving up some doubles because they could just work around anyone who might score those runners. The baserunning gaffes fall pretty squarely on Ned’s shoulders. Hosmer should never be stealing third. Ever. All in all, this is the tinkering style of managing that got Yost fired from the Brewers and contributed squarely to Hillman’s firing as well.

So let me get this straight, multiple people are disagreeing regarding the poing that Gordon and Moustakas are better hitters than Bourg, Getz and Yuni. That’s some epic trolling. I’m not biting.
